Before You Join

Before you take the plunge and join EGA and/or CyberStitchers, you might want to just peek at what we do and who we are. No problem. Click here to join our Guest List. You'll receive digests of our next one or two General Membership meetings (see the index page for the date of the next meeting). This will give you a chance to see what a meeting is like. There's more to us than meetings, of course, but the Guest List will give you a taste.

How to Join

If you want to join CyberStitchers, please send the following information to our Membership Chair, Karen:

EGA number if currently or formerly a member
Chapter Affiliation and Region Affiliation if you know it
Appropriate amount of dues (see below)

We can accept credit cards or a bank debit via PayPal. PayPal can be reached at http://secure.paypal.x.com/refer/pal=cyberstitchers%40excite.com

The CyberStitchers email for PayPal payments is "cyberstitchers@excite.com".

International members can use PayPal or send an international money order to pay in U.S. dollars (please see NOTE in red below).

If you use PayPal, we recommend you email our Membership Chair letting her know you have submitted a payment.

Dues

Dues are based on a couple of different types of memberships:

Primary: you are solely or primarily a member of CyberStitchers_EGA; any other memberships you have to other chapters are not your primary membership.

Plural: you are already a member of another EGA chapter and want to add CyberStitchers on as your secondary membership.

Member-at-Large: you do not belong to any chapter, even CyberStitchers, but are a general member of EGA. If you join CyberStitchers, you would no longer be a Member-at-Large.

US resident: you reside somewhere within the 50 US states.

Non-US resident: you reside outside of the 50 states.

Calculating Your Dues and Postage

US resident primary member EGA Dues are $45.

Non-US resident primary member EGA Dues are $45 (please see note in red below).

Plural membership is $16 per year (please see note in red below).

Member-at-Large becoming a CyberStitchers chapter member, costs $16 until your Member-at-Large term expires. After that, CyberStitchers will be your primary chapter and dues will be $45 a year (please see note in red below).

NOTE: If you are living outside the US, we highly recommend you pay through PayPal. Checks or money-orders drawn on non-US banks (even though made in US funds) cost $35 to process. This is the amount our bank (and any US bank) charges. This fee cannot be absorbed by CyberStitchers and must be added to your dues.

Postage for "NeedleArts"

If you are joining from outside the US: Canadian postage is an additional $12 with your dues, and outside of the US or Canada, the postage charge is $30 with your dues. Postage within the US is included with your dues at no additional charge.

What happens next?

Once your information and dues have been received, we will add you to the main CyberStitchers e-mail list. You will also receive e-mail invitations to join the other CyberStitchers lists such as Stitch of the Month, CyberStitchers Chat, and Petite Projects. You must respond to the invitations within the time mentioned in the invitation to join the groups.

EGA National Headquarters processes dues quarterly, so if you are a new member, you will not receive anything in the mail from them until the quarter following your submission of dues.
