Glossary

F2F
Face to face; refers to a chapter or group that meets in person.
GCC
Group correspondence courses offered through the chapter and the EGA. See our GCC page for more details.
HSS
Head Slap Society. A group within the CyberStitchers group, having no extra meetings or Yahoo Groups. You're a member if you sometimes smack your forehead and say, "Duh!"
ICC
Individual correspondence courses offered through the EGA. See the EGA website for more details.
NB/
In a meeting message subject, indicates that the message is new business. It will usually be followed by the topic.
Petite Projects
Programs offered by the EGA and free to chapter members. They are small projects that can be finished fairly quickly. It's a great way to experience a new stitch or technique.  Samples are available on the Petite Projects page.
Plural member
An EGA member who belongs to more than one chapter.  Their main chapter (where they pay their National dues) is their primary chapter and any others are plural chapters.
Polls
Refers to the polls on the CyberStitchers EGA Yahoo! Groups page. These are used for voting and indicating attendance. Voting is limited to current chapter members.
Rep/
In a meeting message subject, indicates that the message is a report. Usually it will be followed by the committee or project name.
SAMAWSA
The Slow As Molasses in an Arctic Winter Stitchers Association. A comical "subgroup" within CyberStitchers. No extra meetings or Yahoo Groups, just a wink and a nod.
SAS or Share-a-Stitch
Share-a-Stitch is the name of the yearly needlework seminar sponsored by Tennessee Valley Region (TVR.)  It's a three day event hosted by one of the TVR chapters and generally held each June.  The brochure for June 2003's SAS is available from the Activities page.
Stitch-A-Month or SAM
A program offering a new stitch diagram and the history of the stitch each month.  See the SAM page for details.
TVR
Tennessee Valley Region, the local EGA governing body that CyberStitchers is a part of.  EGA nationally is divided into thirteen regions based on geographic area.  CyberStitchers doesn't fit geographically into any region, so when we were chartered we were assigned to the region containing the National Headquarters, which is TVR.  Besides CyberStitchers, TVR is made up of chapters in Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and southwestern West Virginia.
UB/
In a meeting message subject, indicates that the message is unfinished business. It will usually be followed by the topic.
