Group Correspondence Courses
Group Correspondence Courses are EGA classes that provide instruction over a period of three to nine months. As the name suggests, members enroll as a group, helping keep costs low. The teacher provides an extensive text and students work a project as described in the text. The teacher answers questions and members may submit their work for educational comments at the end of the class. Successful completion entitles you to a certificate and the right to wear a color-coded thread representing the course.
CyberStitchers offers a variety of GCCs for the benefit of our members, and we open enrollment to other members of EGA as well. Each GCC has a discussion group so that members can talk among themselves about the projects, share pictures of their work and discuss problems. The teacher often joins in.
We are currently working on the following courses. If you would like information any of the GCCs we offer, please contact Anne, the Education chairperson.
Expanded descriptions and photos of these course projects are available in the EGA Education Catalog online:
EGA has a special Yahoo Group for members interested in GCCs. You can view the group here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/EGA_GCC/ And to subscribe, send an email to EGA_GCC-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. In your email, include your name, Chapter name, and EGA member number.
